This position will require the RN to travel across the network, providing support at any campus equipped with a robotic surgery platform, including ASCs. The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of robotic surgery. The standard schedule will consist of five 8-hour shifts per week, with a daily start time of 7:30 a.m.
Position Responsibilities:
Administrative
- Work in conjunction with central scheduling, the surgical office schedules to support robotic scheduling
- Advise campus leads inventory PAR levels of instruments and accessories
- Maintain and update OR/Hospital protocols related to robotic surgery
- Maintain records of surgical procedure pathways and guidelines
- Document procedure results and assist with procedure data collection and management, which includes quality reports, cost containment, and preference card updates.
- Assists in the development of capital and operational budgets
- Assist with marketing of robotic surgery
- Responsible for assisting with goal development, strategic planning, and evaluation of goal achievement that is in alignment with the Steering Committee and Strategic Plan
- Participates in and assumes leadership role in robotic surgery and other surgical committees, task forces and special projects
Technical
- Liaison between vendor and local campus for preventative maintenance of systems
- Liaison between vendor and IT upgrades and technical troubleshooting
- Initiate or support product failure and repair exchanges of instruments
Clinical
- Clinical troubleshooting of surgical systems
- Target and support new surgeons interested in robotic surgery
- Develop and maintain a Clinical Pathway for individual robotic surgery teams
- Coordinate resident training
- Liaison between medical affairs and vendor for on-site case observations
- Assist with coordinating community outreach services
- Develop benchmark initiatives in robotic OR efficiency and patient safety
Position Qualifications Required:
Required Experience:
1-2 years' recent Operating Room experience required.
Required Education:
Bachelor’S Degree
Training / Certification / Licensure:
Current NJ RN License, Current CPR certification required. Current RNFA certification and CNOR certification preferred.
