Patient Scheduling Representative

Job Summary:

Responsible for coordinating patient procedure and diagnostic scheduling, supporting smooth operations and positive patient experiences in the assigned area.

Job Description:

Patient Scheduling Representatives play a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely, well-coordinated care at MaineGeneral Health. In this position, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments and supporting both patients and clinical staff through clear communication and accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Scheduling appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
• Coordinating with medical and clinical staff to confirm availability of providers, facilities, and required preauthorizations.
• Communicating with patients and families, as appropriate, to provide pre-procedure instructions and confirm appointment details.
• Collecting and entering accurate demographic, insurance, and preauthorization information for all scheduled encounters.

This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and excellent service.
