A Day In The Life
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cranial & Spine Technologies (CST) team as an intern and witness firsthand the life-changing impact our technology has on patients. This role offers high exposure to healthcare professionals, as you’ll learn how to provide technical support to hospitals and collaborate with internal teams to deliver solutions that enhance the overall customer experience.
As an intern, you will support cranial and spinal implant procedures in the northern region of Portugal, working closely with the CST team.

- • Start date: October/November
- • Duration: 12 months
- • Location: Porto
- • Work model: remote with on-site support
- • Working time: 40 hours per week
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
• Supporting spinal procedures, including navigation techniques, spinal instruments and implant techniques, intra-op imaging for navigation, and robotic-assisted cases
• Preparing and planning surgical cases in advance to ensure smooth support (anticipating required materials, shipping, and procedural workflow)
• Joining Technical Consultants (TCs) and Sales Representatives during spinal procedures, with shadowing activities during the first 6 months
• Assisting in troubleshooting technical issues, leveraging technology to enable spine procedures
• Supporting device inventory management, maintaining updated records of repairs and maintenance
• Collaborating in documenting technical procedures and supporting administrative tasks such as report preparation and follow-up actions
• Participating in training programs to acquire in-depth knowledge of procedures, therapy, and devices
• Staying informed on the latest updates and technological advances, providing guidance to users regarding product use and benefits
• Sharing best practices and technological updates with the commercial team
• Traveling to support cases or customer needs within the assigned territory
Required knowledge and skills:
• Recently graduated with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biomedical/Medical/Electronics Engineering, Nursing, Imaging/Radiology or a similar field
• Fluent in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
• Proficient knowledge of MS office (Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook) – particularly at ease with Excel adoption
• Able to travel throughout the national territory with focus in the North region
• Scientific and technical curiosity related to our therapies and technologies
• Eager to grow and learn, comfortable with ambiguity and with dynamic work environment
• Driving license
- Would be a plus:
- • Previous experience/exposure to a hospital/OR environment.
- • Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Matlab, other)
- • Spanish language skills
