The Human Resources Regional Director – North America provides strategic and operational leadership for human resources across multiple offices and manufacturing sites in the US and Canada. Reporting to the Global Regional HR Leader, this role leads a team of HR Managers and HR Business Partners to ensure consistent, compliant delivery of HR services. The Director partners with business leaders to align HR practices with organizational goals, drive workforce effectiveness, and support a positive and inclusive culture. Qualified candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule out of our Bloomington, MN office.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a geographically dispersed team of HR Managers and Business Partners across union and non-union environments.
- Foster a collaborative HR community to share best practices and promote professional development.
- Ensure consistent interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures across the region.
- Oversee delivery of core HR services including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compensation and benefits.
- Partner with local managers to resolve employee issues, support workforce planning, and implement organizational changes.
- Monitor and improve regional HR metrics such as turnover, engagement, and absenteeism.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations; coordinate with legal counsel as needed.
- Advise on labor union negotiations and collective bargaining processes.
- Conduct internal HR audits and enforce global and regional HR policies.
- Identify regional talent needs and implement development and succession planning programs in both office and plant settings.
- Facilitate training and development activities for managers and employees.
- Serve as an advisor to regional business leaders on organizational design and workforce planning.
- Participate in business planning and collaborate with global HR COEs to tailor programs for regional needs.
- Translate business priorities into actionable HR strategies and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- 3+ years of experience in a multi-site manufacturing leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or HR certification is highly preferred.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed HR teams across multiple states.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR practices; including U.S. labor laws, employment regulations, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated experience in union negotiations, grievance handling, and collective bargaining.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams and influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English required, additional languages preferred.
- Experience in change management, project management, and process improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations and support manufacturing environments.
Relocation: This position is eligible for relocation assistance.
Annual Salary Range: $148,300 – $196,600.
Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for:
- Annual incentive plan based on performance and company growth.
- Long-Term Incentive (LTI) Plan
