Brandeis University is searching for a Video Production Collaborator to join our educational content development team in a temporary capacity. The position is for approximately 12-16 weeks, ideally starting in September 2025, but there is flexibility.

Summary

We are seeking a talented and reliable video production professional to collaborate on creating a series of short educational videos based on an upcoming book focused on core professional skills for young professionals and college students. This temporary position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful educational content that will help shape the next generation of professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in film production and editing, with the ability to transform written content into engaging visual narratives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the business school professor to adapt book content into compelling video format
  • Plan and execute video production from pre-production through final delivery
  • Handle all aspects of filming, including cinematography and lighting setup
  • Perform comprehensive video editing and post-production work
  • Develop creative approaches to present professional skills content in an engaging manner
  • Ensure consistent quality and messaging across all video content
  • Meet project deadlines while maintaining high production standards
  • Provide input on visual storytelling techniques to maximize educational impact

Required Skills

  • Strong background in film production and video creation
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
  • Experience with camera operation and basic lighting techniques
  • Excellent organizational abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships
  • Proven reliability and professional responsibility in project delivery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in video production and editing
  • Portfolio demonstrating experience with educational or instructional video content
  • Proficiency with post-production software and workflow management
  • Experience working collaboratively on creative projects
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Timeframe: Approximately 12-16 weeks, with flexibility on start date
