Job Summary:

This job performs responsible administrative duties supporting the business in areas of production process, analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, QA specifications, purchase orders, etc.) and create key shop routings, work instructions, and other necessary process and documentation for all legacy and new products.  This employee is responsible for writing, documenting and recording step-by-step work instructions on how to produce and assemble products., input bill of materials into MRP, and coordinates work with the engineering and quality. The planner will also use word processor and Video programs/equipment to help develop details digital work instructions and process documents. This employee will also assist the operations department with manufacturing issues and work with Engineering and Quality to develop solutions.

Job Functions:

  • Provides manufacturing support documents and written step-by-step work instructions, including visual aids, on how to produce and assemble products.
  • Reviews released engineering drawings for manufacturing impact.
  • Inputs bill of materials.
  • Provides liaison between shop floor and engineering when problems and questions arise.
  • Provides documentation with Microsoft Word, Publisher, SolidWorks, Altium, and more.
  • Statuses work using Microsoft Excel software.
  • Investigates and responds to corrective action requests through Access database.
  • Reviews and understands engineering drawings including schematics, PCB’s and Mechanical layouts.
  • Attends Material Review Board meetings to review drawings and parts for manufacturing implications.
  • Responsible for recording and assembling raw video footage into polished visually compelling videos and images.
  • Responsible for editing all footage with company-provided software.
  • Will always communicate to all team members in a respectful manner.
  • Assists and guides staff when necessary or when complex planning issues arise.
  • Assists in the development of planning policies and procedures to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the planning department.
  • Produces copies for shop floor.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have 5+ years’ knowledge in an electronics manufacturing environment;
  • Must have and demonstrate skills with applicable software required to perform job functions including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, MRP systems, SolidWorks, Altium;
  • Must have experience with video editing software.
  • Must have ability to read and understand engineering blueprints, schematics, and manufacturing documentation;
  • Must have strong written and verbal skills;
  • Must have experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) configuration;
  • Must be capable with working with other team members from all departments;
  • Must be capable of training team members and others to develop and improve skill levels;
  • Ability to organize and direct oneself;
  • Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one’s conduct;
  • Ability to inspire oneself and others to reach a goal and/or perform to the best of their ability;
  • Must have positive attitude to support company policies and must be able to create and maintain a high-morale environment;

  • Must be able to use mathematic principles in solving business equations and calculate figures and amounts using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures and policies.

Work Environment:

  • Employee could be exposed to fumes when working withing the manufacturing process;
  • Occasionally lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds approximately;
  • Well-lit, temperature-controlled, clean environment;
  • Constantly work with small objects;
  • Sit at a computer for long periods of time;
  • Work with hand tools to aid in the teaching of manufacturing practices;
  • When required must be able to work overtime including weekends as needed or as required.
