Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership

  • Lead and manage the hotel’s sales strategy across group, corporate, and leisure segments.
  • Drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence and building strong client relationships.
  • Negotiate group business, guest room rates, meeting room rental, and hotel services to achieve or exceed revenue goals.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through prospecting calls, site tours, networking events, and partnerships.
  • Analyze sales and revenue management reports to identify demand trends, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning.
  • Partner with revenue management to set rate structures, monitor minimums, and forecast future demand.
  • Oversee accurate and complete use of sales systems, ensuring all bookings, activities, and lost business are tracked.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor sales team members, setting performance goals and providing coaching for success.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop, implement, and oversee annual marketing and business plans in alignment with hotel goals.
  • Create and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, social, email, and print.
  • Ensure consistent brand identity and positioning across all guest touchpoints and campaigns.
  • Conduct market research to identify consumer preferences, emerging trends, and new revenue opportunities.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources to maximize ROI on campaigns and promotions.
  • Build strategic partnerships with local businesses, tourism groups, and media to enhance visibility.
  • Oversee property-level event programming and collaborate with F&B teams on outlet activations.
  • Monitor performance of marketing initiatives through KPIs, analytics, and testing (e.g., A/B testing).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Actively participate in revenue and strategy meetings, ensuring alignment between sales, marketing, and operations.
  • Work closely with creative, PR, and digital teams to develop compelling content and promotional strategies.
  • Support sister properties with key events and cross-property initiatives as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Administration, Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive hotel sales or marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong background in boutique or lifestyle hotels preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven ability to lead both sales and marketing functions effectively.
  • Strong analytical and revenue management skills with a track record of achieving targets.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in digital marketing, including social media, email, and website optimization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with sales/CRM systems.
  • Ability to travel as needed; flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
