We seek an innovative software engineer to be member of our amazing Atlas team of highly skilled engineers – Brave engineers with a mission to improve designer efficiency in our creative development organization, so we can reach even more kids with a LEGO® experience – and have an upbeat experience ourselves along the path!
Core Responsibilities
We are looking for an energized developer to join our team and contribute to the development of tools that empower LEGO® Designers, transforming creative ideas into tangible products. Who will be instrumental in collaboration with multi-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain backend REST and async services using Python and FastAPI.
This role will implement and optimize database solutions using Neo4j and Postgres to ensure efficient data handling and retrieval. Also, integrate workflow management processes using Temporal to enhance our software reliability.
- Actively own the operations of our systems with Elastic Observability and PagerDuty.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The position is part of the larger Digital Value Chain cluster, providing product designers in the LEGO Group with foundational capabilities for developing, deploying, and operating novelties to the large portfolio already known. As an engineer in Digital Value Chain cluster, you will be part of a area that builds the next generation of our "Designer Development and Productivity platform".
Our team builds software that enables the development of LEGO® Sets: from a Knowledge Graph where all LEGO® Design data is ingested, organized, connected and distributed; to tools that enable Designers to get the first ideas to mass production. We have a great experienced team, and we are looking for someone with the energy needed to learn a lot.
The team is based in the new LEGO® Digital Office in Copenhagen, offering an exciting, inspiring, and flexible work environment – and a little fun play as well!
Do You Have What It Takes?
We are looking for a passionate engineer in the early career that can be challenged with our cool Tech Stack. Preferably applicants for this role have some proficiency in Python, with experience in building backend applications using FastAPI. Preferred candidates hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or have equivalent working experience. Have solid understanding of relational databases like Postgres and strong problem-solving skills and a passion for creating efficient, scalable software solutions
- Experience with frontend technologies, particularly React, to understand full-stack development.
- Understanding of Graph databases like Neo4j.
- Experience with cloud tech and infrastructure as code, particularly AWS and CDK.
- Familiarity with workflow management systems, especially Temporal.
- Knowledge of software design patterns and standard methodologies.
- Familiarity with GitHub DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD.
Superb communication skills in written and spoken English, as well as ability to work closely and effectively in a team-oriented environment.
