Job Description

The Corporate Accounting Intern, reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst - Corporate Accounting, will be part of the corporate accounting and financial reporting team. The intern will be responsible for supporting corporate related accounting matters (month end close and functional corporate cost centers) as well as external reporting.

The internship will be located in our Milwaukee, WI headquarters.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in the month-end and quarter-end close process for the Corporate functions including the preparation of monthly/quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Support the process associated with Zurn’s quarterly and annual SEC filings and prepare related supporting documentation.
  • Assist in the maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP as well as researching accounting guidance in the FASB Accounting Standards Codification.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of internal and external audits.
  • Ad hoc analysis, projects and other duties as assigned including a compensation/benefits project.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and particularly strong Excel skills including pivot tables and dynamic formulas.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks.
