The purpose of the Consortium for Professional Development is to design, develop, and deliver  impactful, equitable, and inclusive learning opportunities for the public health workforce community. Our goal is to inspire and promote personal growth and career advancement to address the public health challenges of our time.

The Consortium for Professional Development is seeking a dynamic Trainer to support the development and implementation of trainings for Community Health Workers (CHWs). This position requires a blend of strong facilitation skills, community engagement, and networking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work to help BPHC become an anti-racist organization by meeting or exceeding standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism policy.
  • Adhere to the Consortium Professional Development’s practices and standards.
  • Develop curriculum, facilitator notes, e-learning modules, and job aids based on the Massachusetts Core Competencies for Community Health Workers.
  • Lead and facilitate interactive and effective training sessions (in-person and virtually) using adult learning principles.
  • Assist with developing yearly training and activity schedule.
  • In collaboration with the CHEC team, design marketing materials to increase CHW participation in ongoing learning and networking activities. This includes updating the CHEC intranet and internet pages.
  • Stay current on industry trends and incorporate best practices into training content.
  • Support the management of the Client Relations Management systems including tracking learner progress, participant registration, and generating reports.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence related to training programs. 
  • Maintain open communication with trainees and trainers. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the design of the monthly CHW Newsletter.   
  • Support the CHW Community Advisory Board.
  • Support monthly CHW Networking events identifying topics, speakers, and/or leading these events.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, health fairs, and networking events.
Qualifications
  • Passionate commitment to health equity and racial/social justice issues.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and injustice in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.
  • High School diploma/GED (Associate degree in Education, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in instructional design, adult learning theory, training, and facilitation.
  • Strong understanding of the Massachusetts Core Competencies for Community Health Workers.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent skills in all Microsoft applications (Teams, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience working in non-profit or government agencies is highly desirable.
