AJC is Hiring: Associate Architect / Senior Project Lead

We’re seeking an experienced architect with 5–10 years of proven expertise in seniors living projects to join our team immediately. This is a senior-level role that demands deep sector knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex projects from concept to completion. Your experience will be critical in shaping high-quality outcomes, guiding teams, and ensuring project success. The Role

As an Associate Architect/ Senior Project lead you will be an integral part of the day-to-day running of projects and act as the interface between the client and our team. As part of your role, you’ll be responsible for monitoring deliverables against the program, budget and external factors.

Your responsibilities will span concept design, financial oversight, and technical leadership, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients. You will also ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and monitor adherence to contractual documentation. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to foster critical thinking, encourage a diversity of ideas and perspectives, and develop creative, value-driven solutions to both challenges and opportunities.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in Seniors Living or Aged Care design is essential.
  • 5-10 years post qualification experience on seniors’ livings projects.
  • Professional qualification as an Architect or an equivalent overseas qualification.
  • Proven experience delivering large and complex projects from inception through to construction, often managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong conceptual, design, and graphic communication skills.
  • Proficiency in technical detailing, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Ability to resolve technical and design challenges through innovative and practical thinking.
  • Solid understanding of products, materials, and construction methods.
  • Experience coordinating with project stakeholders, local authorities, approving bodies, and sub-consultants.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the design team to develop and refine design options.
  • Skilled in preparing, developing, and editing drawings and 3D models relevant to project requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Rhino, Revit, Grasshopper, and Adobe Suite/Infinity.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to take initiative in response to direction.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A flexible and open-minded attitude, with a willingness to adapt and contribute positively to team dynamics.
