The Opportunity – Finance Senior Manager

The Finance Senior Manager provides high-level strategic leadership and operational oversight in managing the financial health of Brisbane Youth Service (BYS). This role involves providing strategic financial advice, developing and mentoring finance staff, managing budgets, overseeing compliance, and ensuring accurate reporting in alignment with our values and strategic plan.

You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you have:

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) certified with tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Economics, Business Management or equivalent.
• Demonstrated extensive financial accounting and management experience in Australia with strong working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, tax and company legislation, and the relevant Awards.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, program development, and organisational leadership with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and programs and liaise/engage with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in managing, supporting and developing a positive, high performing team culture.
• Advanced technology skills using accounting software (Xero preferred) and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

Given the work that we do, there are a few non-negotiables. You’ll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:

• Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
• National Police Check clearance.
• Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases - Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella [Chicken Pox]; and Pertussis [Whooping Cough].
