Department: Global Supply Chain Operations

Global Supply Chain Operations is responsible for the development and execution of fulfilment strategies throughout the product lifecycle, from procuring raw materials to delivering finished goods to customers.  It involves material management, capacity planning, logistics, distribution and inventory management with goals of guaranteeing material supply and satisfactory service level, while optimizing value in a global hyper-growth company.

Position Overview:

Insulet is seeking an energetic and strategic leader to manage its EMEA Distribution and Fulfilment activities. The role will be accountable for overseeing end-to-end distribution operations across European markets, ensuring seamless coordination between external logistics partners and internal stakeholders. This position will serve as Insulet’s primary representative in the Netherlands, working closely with our third-party logistics provider (3PL) to drive operational excellence, compliance, and customer satisfaction. 

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative functional leader who will drive the strategic vision and planning processes for logistics, warehousing, integrated planning, and inventory management while also expanding and building strong relationships with other parts of the value chain. This leader will bring innovative solutions to drive multiples of capacity growth, improve “Podder” satisfaction, and improve costs by translating customer requirements into tactical execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead the EMEA Distribution & Fulfilment function, with a focus on optimizing performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Execute strategic plans to support country expansion within EMEA and evolving market needs to ensure successful launches aligned with Insulet’s market expansion profile

3pl Partnership Management

  • Act as Insulet’s on-the-ground representative in the Netherlands, fostering a strong, collaborative relationship with our 3PL provider.
  • Serve as the central liaison between distribution operations and internal teams including Quality, Planning, Commercial, and Customer Service.
  • Monitor and manage daily distribution activities, ensuring alignment with service level agreements and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and resolve all data discrepancy issues between multiple systems while developing processes to eliminate future occurrences
  • Accountable for reviewing and approving rework documentation, streamlining rework execution processes, and ensuring timely completion through effective tracking and coordination.
  • Drive timely resolution of non-conforming material issues through RCCA analysis and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ensure that all functions are aligned to deliver consistent and high-quality customer experience.

Performance & Compliance

  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for distribution and fulfilment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with European trade regulations, quality standards, and corporate policies.
  • Works in close partnership with the corporate sustainability group to develop and deliver key sustainability improvement strategies throughout the business, such as product takeback/recycling program.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation across the distribution network.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance agility, responsiveness, and sustainability in fulfilment operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in international logistics, distribution, or supply chain leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and implementing systems that have yielded measurable business results.
  • Strong understanding of 3PL operations, preferably within the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Proficient in SAP for executing inventory movements, placing material holds, and managing stock transactions to support efficient supply chain operations
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and use data to influence project outcomes and drive transformational change.
  • Outstanding team player who seeks and values diverse input to hone ideas, but who has the experience to develop strong starting proposals.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with global reach.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.

Education And Experience:

  • Extensive experience of supply chain operations experience with a global manufacturing organization, at least some experience in a management position strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree; Degree in Engineering, Finance, Operations Management or Business Administration and Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing end to end strategies to improve supply chain efficiencies and effectiveness as well as developing the necessary controls to manage a fast-growing demand
  • Knowledge of leading operations and supply practices such as Lean and Six Sigma

  • This role will be based in the Netherlands
  • Travel is estimated at 20% but will flex depending on business needs.
