Description
Job Purpose
The Analyst serves as a control and oversight function for HR processes with financial impact, applying the 4 eyes principle. The purpose of the role is to ensure that HR data and processes – from workforce planning to compensation calculations – are collected and processed accurately, and to perform independent analyses of the results against company budget. Additionally, the Analyst evaluates the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on various compensation components and reviews the implications of currency hedging actions carried out by the Treasury department. These insights provide senior management with critical business and financial information to support informed decision-making.
Furthermore, the Analyst acts as a Business Partner for the Finance department in all aspects of budget management and control, including payroll, operational expenses, travel, and other expenditures, working directly with the CFO to plan, monitor, and provide insights on budget status versus actuals.
Key Responsibilities

- Monitor workforce planning and staffing according to approved plans.
- Responsible over the salaries model and alignment to HR structure and accounting posting
- Review and validate sales commissions calculations performed by HR.
- Oversee management compensation based on performance targets.
- Monitor company-wide general bonuses calculations.
- Control equity, options, and stock allocations.
- Monitor annual salary increase processes.
- Independently analyze all compensation and workforce components against the annual budget.
- Assess the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on compensation.
- Review financial implications of currency hedging actions executed by Treasury.
- Provide senior management with insights and recommendations based on findings.
- Full responsibility for budget management and control for the Finance department.
- Work directly with the CFO on planning, monitoring, and analyzing the department’s budget.
- Manage and control all budget components for the Finance department, including payroll, operational expenses, travel, external vendors, and projects.
- Prepare periodic reports and present budget status versus actuals.
- Analyze trends and provide recommendations for efficiency and budget compliance.
Interfaces
- Human Resources – responsible for data collection and calculations; Analyst performs validation and controls.
- Finance Department – integration of data into budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Treasury Department – review data and analyze impact of currency hedging on payroll components.
- CFO – direct collaboration on all Finance department budget matters.
- Senior Management – provide financial and business insights for decision-making.
Work Routine
Twice Per Quarter
- Update workforce forecast against approved plan.
- Update Finance department budget forecast (including payroll, expenses, travel, vendors).
Each Quarter-End
- Calculate and lead sales commission provision, create insightful analysis.
- Perform controls on HR calculations (commissions, bonuses, performance targets).
- Analyze payroll costs including impact of exchange rates and hedging.
- Prepare Finance department budget reports: variance analysis vs. budget, recommendations.
Annually
- Participate in general bonus process and equity/stock allocation.
- Monitor annual salary increase process.
- Prepare annual Finance department budget.
Ongoing
- Continuous collaboration with HR, Finance, and Treasury on control processes and forecasts.
- Direct work with CFO on Finance department budget management.
- Generate insights and present findings in management forums.
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration – required.
- 4–6 years of direct experience in payroll, compensation, and employee benefits management, including commissions, bonuses, salary increases, and equity/stock allocations - required.
- Knowledge of exchange rate impacts and/or derivatives or currency hedging transactions – required.
- Experience with compensation/payroll systems – advantage.
- Experience working with senior management and acting as a Business Partner – advantage.
- High proficiency in Excel and BI systems.
- Position based in: Bangalore, India.
