We are seeking a passionate and accomplished academic to join our dynamic team as Associate Professor in Nursing. This is a senior leadership role with a strong focus on teaching excellence, research aligned with the school’s strategic priorities, and active contribution to the life of the school. You will play a guiding role in shaping the future of our PAS programs and postgraduate education, while mentoring Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and contributing to a culture of collaboration and innovation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone on an upward academic trajectory who thrives in an enabling environment and is committed to person-centred care, patient safety, and impactful nursing research.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- maintain a national and international reputation for academic excellence in nursing education and research
- lead research initiatives aligned with the school’s strategic priorities, including patient safety and person-centred care
- deliver high-quality, engaging teaching and learning experiences across undergraduate and postgraduate programs
- supervise and mentor higher degree research students and ECRs to successful outcomes
- contribute to curriculum innovation and the ongoing development of PAS and postgraduate programs
- actively participate in the life of the school, including governance, service, and strategic planning
- foster a respectful, inclusive, and culturally safe academic environment
- build and maintain strong relationships with academic, industry, and professional partners
- contribute to community and alumni engagement and policy development
- undertake other duties appropriate to the classification level as required.
About You
- PhD in Nursing or a closely related discipline (essential)
- current registration with AHPRA (essential)
- recognised as a competent, passionate teacher with a strong track record of educational excellence
- sustained record of research outputs aligned with nursing priorities such as patient safety and person-centred care
- demonstrated commitment to social justice
- national or international research reputation supported by a strong publication profile
- demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring academic staff and students
- strong teaching skills and a commitment to student-centred learning
- active contributor to academic service and school life in a senior, guiding capacity
- collaborative team member who thrives in a dynamic and enabling environment
- wide network of academic, industry, and professional relationships.
