The Opportunity:
Interested in understanding the causes of Heavy Menstrual Bleeding? Want to work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary team? Then please apply for this wonderful position working with our Edinburgh based team on this Wellcome Leap funded project as part of the Missed Vital Sign Programm. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of sample processing, analyses and interpretation. You will work with a collaborative team including fundamental scientists, clinical scientists, and research nurses to contribute new knowledge to enhancing our understanding of the causes of HMB.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
This post is initially for 10 months and this may be extended subject to funder milestones being met.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Undergraduate degree in a biological science subject.
- First Class Honours degree at undergraduate level or postgraduate (Masters/PhD) degree.
- Competence in sample processing for down-stream molecular analyses, cell culture, RNA and protein extraction, hormone assays, Western and qRTPCR analysis, histological analyses including advanced imaging methods.
- Evidence of ability to integrate disparate methodologies.
- Proven ability to work to deadlines.
