A Brief Overview

The Director - Project Delivery is a highly strategic and results-driven role responsible for leading the project management, process improvement, strategic plan management, and education delivery functions of the Organizational Excellence department. This role involves developing, implementing, and continuously improving organizational project management and process improvement methodologies, best practices, and standards to drive efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery throughout Avera. The Director will oversee and develop leaders and teams of project managers, continuous improvement advisors, and strategy advisors, and collaborate with cross-functional leaders at all levels to ensure the successful delivery of projects across the organization.

What you will do

  • Drives realization of business value through project and process improvement initiatives.
  • Advance the maturity of project delivery, strategy facilitation, and process improvement practices.
  • Develop and maintain standard project management and Lean process improvement methodologies across the organization.
  • Evaluate project requirements and optimize resource utilization for project delivery teams.
  • Ensure adherence to established project delivery standards across the Organizational Excellence department.
  • Plan and manage team resources and budgets effectively.
  • Maintain reporting standards and meet departmental KPIs.
  • Cultivate a high-performance team culture focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous professional growth.
  • Create and deliver executive-level presentations, reports, and updates to senior management and the board.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Healthcare, Business Administration, Health Sciences or related field and/or 10+ years equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) - Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent. Upon Hire
  • 10+ years related experience.
  • 1-3 years management experience.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Master's
  • IASSC Certified Green Belt - The International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC) Upon Hire
  • IASSC Certified Black Belt - The International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC) Upon Hire
