Consultant - Digital

Collaborate with transport planners to co-develop digital tools and data-driven solutions that enhance project delivery and client value.

Design and build scalable, user-friendly applications using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

Analyse transport and infrastructure data to uncover insights, support decision-making, and improve planning outcomes.

Develop interactive dashboards and reports that communicate complex data clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Mentor junior developers and analysts, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence.

Conduct quality reviews of digital tools and data models, ensuring accuracy, performance, and usability.

Work closely with project managers to ensure digital and data components are delivered on time and to WSP’s standards.

Maintain strong communication with UK-based teams and clients to ensure alignment and responsiveness.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong understanding of data analysis, including data modeling, transformation (Power Query), and visualisation using Power BI.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, or analytical tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with non-technical stakeholders to translate domain-specific needs into digital solutions.
• Solid understanding of software development principles, including version control, modular design, and testing.
• Experience working in a team-based environment, with the ability to both lead and take direction as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently within time and budget constraints.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data handling).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Desired Skills

• Experience with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) or spatial data integration within Power BI or Power Apps
• Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, or Power Apps custom themes) to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces
• Experience with JavaScript and SharePoint Framework (SPFx) for custom development and integration
• Proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and managing structured data
• Experience with VBA for legacy Excel automation or tool enhancement
• Exposure to custom connectors, REST APIs, or integration with external systems
• Interest in or experience with transportation datasets, mobility analytics, or smart city applications
