25-1867 Mental Health Therapist AMHS/ECCC-$2,000 or $4,000 Sign On Bonus!

This position offers a $2,000 (1 year stay-on agreement) or 4,000 (2 year stay-on agreement) Sign On Bonus with the agency!  This bonus will be provided upon completion of a probationary period.

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of Eaton County Counseling Center Supervisor, will provide assessment and treatment services to persons exhibiting a range of mental health conditions.  Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: providing targeted case management, providing crisis response services to adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis, providing follow up services and stabilization following hospital discharge, providing services designed to prevent hospitalizations, and/or providing individual or family outpatient treatment.  Services will be provided primarily on an outpatient basis, either at the clinic, consumer’s residence, hospital, and/or Bridges Crisis Unit. Serves as a Mental Health Therapist, assessing individuals, developing treatment plans, using person centered planning principles, and conducting counseling/psychotherapy.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field is required. Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential is required. One year of experience (professional or paraprofessional) working with persons with mental illness required or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons with mental illness required. Candidate must be able to work well with others and function independently when interacting with other programs/agencies within the community.  Work hours are variable and may occasionally include early evening hours. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable means of transportation for job related use is required. 

Conditional Employment Requirement: Offers for this position will be contingent upon the results a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $60,604 -$68,790 annually with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $79,538. 40 hours per week, some evening hours.
