We’re currently seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our Headquarters team!
The Corporate Counsel at Mister Car Wash is responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, SaaS agreements, and acquisition-related documents, to support the company's operations and growth. This role provides legal guidance on day-to-day commercial and operational issues, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and risk management goals. The Corporate Counsel collaborates with cross-functional teams, develops and maintains standardized contract templates and internal processes. Additionally, the position involves ongoing legal support for regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and other legal requirements including privacy, consumer protection, advertising and marketing laws, intellectual property, real estate transactions, and other business matters, while working proactively to identify legal risks and deliver practical, business-oriented solutions.
What You Will Do:
Contract Review and Negotiation:
• Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, NDAs, SaaS agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Research applicable law for various jurisdictions to provide concise, commercially focused legal advice on contract terms, obligations, and risks.
Compliance with Applicable Laws and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Ensure business processes comply with applicable regulations and laws such as advertising, marketing, IP, consumer protection, privacy and other applicable laws pertaining to the operation of a car wash business. Ensure contracts align with corporate policies, signing authority, risk management goals, and legal requirements.
• Provide ongoing legal support for a variety of business matters, including compliance with regulatory requirements, risk mitigations, and operational challenges.
Contract Management and Process Improvement:
• Develop and maintain standardized contract templates, playbooks, and internal processes to streamline contract lifecycle management.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of a contract management system to track key dates, obligations, and renewal processes.
Training and Legal Support:
• Support training of legal personnel on contract basics, compliance, or legal issues.
• Identify legal risks proactively and deliver practical, business-oriented solutions.

How You Will Shine:
Education:
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Arizona (preferred) or another U.S. jurisdiction.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a strong background in negotiating commercial agreements, including mergers and acquisitions.
• Experience building policies and advising compliance with advertising, marketing, IP, privacy and consumer protection laws.
• Experience negotiating real estate transactions is a plus. Experience should be gained at a mid-to-large size law firm or in-house legal department within the retail, consumer goods, or quick service industries.
• Experience working with customer-oriented retail business operations.
• Strong work ethic, customer service orientation, and orientation to act with a sense of urgency in achieving business goals. Excels at project management and managing multiple overlapping timelines.
• Demonstrated ability to identify legal risks proactively and deliver practical, business-oriented solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
• Strong academic background with excellent writing skills. Extensive experience in contract review, drafting, and negotiations.
• Familiarity with laws and regulations involved in operating a car wash business including marketing, IP, consumer protection, privacy, and associate and customer safety considerations.
• Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of independence, proactively identify potential legal and business risks, balance multiple business demands, and work collaboratively with internal business clients.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the company, including those outside of direct reporting lines.
• Dedication to client service, ability to analyze complex and ever-changing situations, ability to solve problems and execute solutions.
• High level of professionalism and dedication to providing effective and practical legal support to internal teams.
• Ability to solve complex problems and provide timely, business-focused solutions.
