In This Position…
PTSE Ongoing Product Development (OPD) is part of Ford Motor Company’s Product Development Quality organization. OPD supervisors are responsible for leading a team of OPD engineers to identify, contain and resolve ongoing quality issues after product launch. OPD supervisors will work closely with the propulsion design teams, calibration, manufacturing, plant vehicle teams and core quality.
This position is part of team responsible for IPTSE (Internal Combustion Engine - Propulsion - Thermal Systems Engineering) and is specifically responsible for thermal systems, including air conditioning and heat, and engine and HV battery cooling systems.
What You'Ll Do…
- Lead team of OPD engineers to contain and resolve ongoing low time in service (LTIS) quality issues past product launch.
- Prioritize ongoing and emerging issues using leading and lagging indicator data and analysis.
- Define and investigate issues including developing trends based on vehicle line, time in service, operating conditions, locations and other critical factors.
- Lead and/or support cross-functional teams through root cause, corrective action and prevent reoccurrence actions.
- Conduct prevent reoccurrence action (PRA) read across to other programs. Implement PRAs as appropriate.
- Represent Product Development during plant containment actions including quality holds, stop ships.
- Partner with functional quality personnel to lead emerging and ongoing issue discussions in propulsion (engine, induction, exhaust), fuel and thermal system quality meetings.
- Attend leadership manufacturing and product quality meetings including Plant Quality Review (PQR), Functional Quality Review (FQR), Director Quality Review (DQR).
- Lead and/or attend working level quality meetings.
- Support safety and regulatory reviews as necessary.
You'Ll Have…
- Bachelor in engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing or Systems Engineering

- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
- Technical background in engines and engine systems
- Excellent problem solving skills with solid understanding of problem solving methodologies
- Excellent leadership and presentation skills.
- Proficient in English
