  • Ensure and enforce department adherence to all government, industry, and corporate Health & Safety standards and policies.
  • Drive improved department safety metrics through active promotion, resource provision, and strict process adherence (e.g., Pro-Tag, Arc Flash, Safety Audits, Pre-Task Analyses).
  • Lead data-driven maintenance processes to significantly enhance quality metrics (e.g., improve First Time Through (FTT), reduce scrap and contamination).
  • Champion root cause analysis and implement effective permanent corrective actions using methodologies like Global 4D or 8D processes.
  • Monitor and ensure production schedule adherence, promptly resolving maintenance-related issues to minimize disruptions.
  • Guarantee problem-free production start-ups by providing necessary resources and facilitating effective start-up and shift-to-shift meetings.
  • Facilitate skilled trades' understanding and elimination of production bottlenecks through constraint analysis and coordinated activities.
  • Lead the development of sound business cases and project proposals, including data collection and evaluation.
  • Manage departmental budgets, prioritize resource allocation to control and improve Maintenance Cost Per Unit (MCPU).
  • Optimize maintenance activities to improve throughput, meet or exceed budget targets, and adhere to production schedules.
  • Implement robust material control, spare parts inventory management, repair/rebuild programs, and reliability/maintainability reviews.
  • Disseminate policy deployment, drive SQDCPME (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, Environment) principles, and clearly communicate departmental maintenance goals.
  • Coach, counsel, and teach subordinates to foster a "One Team" culture and enhance overall team capabilities.
  • Lead and actively participate in critical operational activities including production scheduling, staffing, procurement, equipment maintenance, quality control, and inventory management, coordinating across departments.
  • Promote and support work groups, integrating skilled trades per contractual agreements.
  • Cultivate a team environment founded on accountability, teamwork, empowerment, and continuous improvement.
  • Set, support, and enforce attendance for Time & Data Management events related to the Maintenance Operating System.
  • Coordinate resources and activities to support Manufacturing Engineering (ME) organization launches, ensuring production schedules, budgetary limits, and time constraints are met.
  • Evaluate and deliver on FTPM (Ford Total Productive Maintenance) measurable targets.
  • Maximize equipment effectiveness through detailed, standardized, and prioritized preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
  • Review, approve, and assess the effectiveness of all preventive maintenance activities.
  • Devise comprehensive maintenance plans, strategies, and priorities aligned with the total department business plan, optimizing daily maintenance around production opportunities.
  • Provide resources and support for maintenance activities, organizing detailed planning.
  • Confirm and enforce strict adherence to Maintenance Operating System processes, reviewing progress and requiring accountability for goals and objectives.
  • Ensure full department compliance with all government, industry, and corporate environmental standards.

You'Ll Have...

  •  5 years in maintenance and/or engineering
  •  Some experience in production
  •  In depth experience in assembly manufacturing processes
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with all employees in the organization
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ford Production System
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills, including working knowledge of Six Sigma
  •  Demonstrated ability to work as a team
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, empower and develop employees
  • Demonstrated conflict management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organization skills
  •  Ability to work closely and successfully with others in order to deliver results
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in ONE FORD leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

This position is a range of salary grades 6, 7 and 8.
