This is a full-time continuing position with salary in the range $102,565 - $111,686 (HEW 7), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

About This Opportunity

The Library is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Digitisation to combine strong leadership skills with technical expertise. In this role, you will help lead our digitisation team in delivering high-quality digitisation of the Library’s special collections.

Working closely with the Manager, Digitisation and Digital Asset Management, you will be responsible for motivating technical staff to reach and exceed goals, creating and maintaining schedules, maintaining standards and workflows, assessing collections and liaising with clients.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

Team Leadership & Management

  • Provide effective leadership to the digitisation team by creating and managing scheduling, training staff, monitoring individual and team performance, quality assurance, providing regular feedback to improve performance and service delivery, and fostering an inclusive and welcoming team culture.

Workflow & Project Coordination

  • Coordinate the team's service delivery by assessing collections for digitisation, specifying methods and equipment, and creating and monitoring project schedules and deadlines.

Standards & Procedures

  • Ensure that digitisation standards and workflow procedures are consistently followed by staff, and provide expert technical and organisational guidance to the team.

Strategic Collaboration

  • Actively engage with staff across the Library, including collection management and technology specialists, to ensure effective communication and to contribute to team and cross-Library projects.

Please note this is primarily an on-campus role. General duties involve moving large items as required and pushing loaded trolleys. Repetitive tasks involve lifting, reaching, and squatting with long periods of standing and walking.

About You

  • You will have experience leading a dynamic team, with a proven ability to set and maintain standards and procedures, motivate staff, monitor and manage performance and provide regular feedback.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Degree and/or qualifications with subsequent experience in areas such as photographic imaging, analogue film, or digital asset management.
  • Proven experience working with heritage collections and an applied knowledge of international heritage digitisation standards, workflows, and technology. An understanding of copyright, privacy, and cultural access protocols is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and adaptably in a dynamic work environment. You should be self-motivated and show initiative, with a strong commitment to respectful and collaborative teamwork.

You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
