As a Senior System Test Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, helping ensure the reliability and safety of state-of-the-art robotic medical device systems. You’ll collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop and execute robust test strategies that validate performance, integration, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Your Role

  • Collaborate with firmware, software, hardware, and systems engineering teams and global stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate robust firmware-software-hardware integration, including fault handling, state machine transitions, communication latency/accuracy, and compliance with interface control documents.
  • Conduct testing using simulators, standalone software tests, and end applications on physical systems, leveraging knowledge of server-client architectures over DDS, EtherCAT, and embedded motor control.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as test coverage, defect density, on-time sprint delivery, and verification cycle time to drive continuous improvement.
  • Diagnose root causes of failure sequences to support system reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to Agile transformation initiatives by applying test-driven development, behavior-driven development (BDD), AI-assisted test automation, and effective backlog management.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test protocols, and results to support regulatory submissions and audits.
  • Author and manage verification plans, protocols, test cases, traceability matrices, and summary reports to guide test planning & execution.
  • Coordinate with lab management to secure necessary resources (equipment, personnel, lab space, etc.) to meet verification timelines.
  • Identify, report, and track hardware/software defects using tools like JIRA; validate fixes and support root cause analysis. 

Your Skills And Experience

  • BS in Electrical, Computer, Software, or Biomedical Engineer or Computer Science, and 6+ years’ experience in delivering medical device solutions to production ORMS or PhD in Electrical, Computer, Software, or Biomedical Engineer or Computer Science, and 3+ years’ experience in delivering medical device solutions to production.
  • Experience with product development involving hardware, firmware, and software elements.
  • Hands-on experience with debugging tools and test equipment for embedded systems.
  • Experience with Jira, Cockpit, or other requirements management, test management, defect tracking and work management tools.
  • Authoritative knowledge in SAFe, SCRUM, or related Agile frameworks and methodologies.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, and coaching skills, with experience presenting to executive level management on project status.
  • Understanding of the application of ISO 13485, IEC62304, IEC 60601-1 and FDA QS Regulation 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Familiarity with server-client architecture over DDS, EtherCAT, embedded motor control.
