Genai Development Manager

We’re seeking a skilled GenAI Development Manager to join our AI Capabilities team within the Data & AI Unit at Veikkaus. In this position, you will contribute to designing and executing the GenAI roadmap and will be also responsible for product planning, stakeholder management, and the tactical execution of generative AI initiatives. You will work closely with Veikkaus’ business units and other stakeholders to support the integration of generative AI tools into business processes and to identify high-impact AI use cases through collaboration. You will also be training stakeholders in AI literacy, best practices, and the use of tools. Depending on your strengths and interests, this role can lean more toward product leadership or include deeper technical guidance.

• Develop and maintain a strategic product roadmap for GenAI initiatives, aligned with business objectives.
• Prioritize the product backlog, define user stories, and manage feature releases in collaboration with development teams.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with business units, other departments and teams including external consultants.
• Design and refine AI governance and operating models.
• Identify, prototype, and scale high-impact GenAI use cases in business workflows.
• Ensure smooth integration of GenAI tools into existing processes.
• Stay updated on emerging tools and trends to identify new opportunities for GenAI-driven innovation.
• Communicate product vision, progress, and timelines clearly to business and technical stakeholders.
• Lead training initiatives on GenAI literacy, best practices, and tool usage.
• Ensure AI implementations adhere to GDPR, EU AI Act, and internal ethics standards.
• Update internal policies and support governance frameworks to align with evolving regulatory expectations.

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in turning GenAI into actionable business outcomes (e.g., productivity gains, new services, or improved customer experience).
• Solid background in product ownership, product management, or solution leadership, ideally with AI-related solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically, creatively, and strategically.
• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and expectation setting, across both business and technical domains.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent oral and written proficiency in English (Finnish is considered an advantage).
• Experience with AI development or deployment environments (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus, but not mandatory if the profile leans toward product ownership.
• Familiarity with AI governance, compliance, and ethics frameworks (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act).
• A relevant higher education degree (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or related field) is an advantage.
• Understanding of the gambling, gaming, or other customer-centric industries is considered beneficial.

Depending on your background and preference areas, the role may lean more toward:

• A Product Owner, emphasizing business alignment, roadmap strategy, and stakeholder management; or
• A Technical Lead, combining product ownership with hands-on oversight of GenAI implementation architecture and tool integration.

This position is located in Finland. We have modern and agile hybrid working methods in use and flexible on-site working spaces at the office in Pohjois-Haaga.
