Respiratory Therapist (RCP) - Part Time -Varied Shift - Mercy SD

This position is a part time (36 hours per two week pay period), benefited (12 hour varied shift) position, including weekend rotation, at our Mercy San Diego Hospital.  

This position is for the new grad RCP program therefore we are looking for new graduates.

The Respiratory Therapist, in collaboration with other caregivers:

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates actions for respiratory care.
• Performs all technical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care and other core responsibilities necessary to maintain the flow of patient care and comfort in the unit.
• Responds to critical situations.
• Utilizes computer systems in performing position duties.
• Adheres to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Participates in Quality Control, preventative maintenance, and performance improvement activities.

Required:

• Current California RCP license
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Enjoys working with the public
• Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English
• Technically competent in the department skills inventory
• Computer literate

Preferred:

• Graduate of one or two year AMA School of Respiratory Care
