Supervisor, IT Epic Applications (Hospital Billing & Claims) - (250009GX)
Description
A Brief OverviewThis position supervises critical clinical, patient access, and/or revenue cycle applications and requires an extensive understanding of the assigned Epic applications that support the enterprise clinical and business departments and/or departmental applications. This position will be responsible for leading a team of analyst to help implement and maintain functionality to their assigned Epic applications under the direction of their manager.
What You Will Do- Directly supervises Epic application analysts, and is responsible for ensuring their work output is satisfactory. Responsible for all hiring and related personnel decisions, completing routine performance review evaluations, training, scheduling, managing assignments, and monitoring performance for the team.
- Initiates and maintains positive relationships with key customers and co-workers.
- Partners with customer departments and team members to translate business requirements into viable solutions, with attention on customer service.
- Leads discovery, planning or follow-up sessions with key customers and leads regular status sessions with key customers.
- Liaisons with vendors; participates in vendor or system selections.
- Serves as expert on Epic functionality, features and workflows for internal teams, subject matter experts, and end users.
- Project Manages and leads small to medium size projects with in their own teams or across multiple IT teams.
- Partners with the Project Management Office to support all phases of project implementation as needed.
- Facilitates change management of Epic functionality and workflow by insuring integration of industry standards and practices.
- Leads and validates development and updates of learning materials, job aides and communication for assigned Epic applications in coordination with IT Learning Services and Communication Strategist.
- Validates in partnership with IT Learning Services the training curriculum for end users.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems/Business/Healthcare Related Field or Healthcare IT Management (Required)
Work Experience
- 5+ years in a healthcare IT environment with a focus on clinical, patient access or revenue cycle applications (Required) and
- 2+ years of leadership experience either in a Team Lead or Project Management role or other equivalent experience (Required)
- 2+ years Epic application experience in assigned module (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

- Autonomy/independence: Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. (Required proficiency)
- Must have ability to communicate with all levels across the organization including senior leaders to lead discussions resulting in decision-making. (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office suite and general office equipment (i.e., printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.). (Required proficiency)
- Knowledgeable of ITIL standards. (Preferred proficiency)
- Knowledge of MS Visio and Project. (Preferred proficiency)
- Presentation skills: The ability to develop and deliver formal presentations. (Required proficiency)
- Change Management experience. (Required proficiency)
- Disaster Recovery testing experience. (Preferred proficiency)
- Knowledge and experience with HL7 Interfaces. (Preferred proficiency)
- Knowledge and experience with SQL based applications. (Preferred proficiency)
