We’re looking for a passionate Product Manager to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of data products for a leading retail client. In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of business, data, and technology—turning complex partner requests into precise, scalable, requirements, and valuable data solutions that power better decisions across the enterprise.

You will partner with the Reporting team, engineers, and business stakeholders to design and deliver data products that support customer experiences, operational excellence, and innovation. If you’re someone who thrives in solving ambiguity, prioritizing multiple moving parts, and backing decisions with data, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Backlog Ownership: Build, manage, and continuously refine the product backlog for the Enterprise Data & Analytics team in a retail context.
  • Requirement Synthesis: Partner with multiple teams to gather, interpret, and synthesize data enablement requirements into actionable features and stories.
  • Product Development: Translate partner requests into structured data products, identifying opportunities to generalize solutions rather than building one-offs.
  • Metrics-Driven Decisions: Leverage data, KPIs, and analytical insights to validate assumptions, prioritize initiatives, and measure success.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams to align on priorities and deliver data products that meet business needs.
  • Communication: Clearly and confidently articulate product goals, progress, and value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Prioritization: Balance competing demands from partner teams and ensure decisions align with broader enterprise data strategy.
  • Agility: Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Mindset: Define and evolve the roadmap for data products, balancing immediate business needs with long-term scalability.

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience in Product Management or Product Owner for Data Product Ownership, preferably in the retail domain.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise data and analytics backlogs and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, data enablement, data modeling, data pipeline and data governance.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to bridge technical and business worlds.
  • Skilled at using data and metrics to drive product decisions and evaluate outcomes.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and creative thinker with a track record of building scalable, impactful solutions.

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

  • Minimum Compensation: USD 48,000
  • Maximum Compensation: USD 168,000
  • Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
  • Medical, vision, and dental benefits, 401k retirement plan, variable pay/incentives, paid time off, and paid holidays are available for full time employees.
  • This position is available for independent contractors
  • No applications will be considered if received more than 120 days after the date of this post
