Quantitative Research Lead – Sustainability
This is a great job for someone who has experience working within the financial services industry with strong knowledge of investments, particularly listed equity and fixed income, and specifically an understanding of how sustainable investing constraints and objectives may impact portfolio construction/investment decisions.
A Bit About The Job:
This role brings data science expertise to the Sustainable Investing Function, supporting Aviva’s commercial success through enhanced growth and investment performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end sustainability technology solutions and quantitative models that address complex challenges within investment products and processes. They will leverage Aviva Investors’ quantitative research and development community to enrich sustainability risk analytics and develop models using appropriate data and technology, including coding where required. The role involves operationalising these solutions within Aviva Investors’ technology architecture, ensuring full compliance with regulatory obligations and governance standards. A deep understanding of sustainability data, investment strategies, and technology infrastructure is essential, as the candidate will help shape solution objectives from initial problem statements and advise on the art of the possible.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Master level qualification/Finance or sustainability-related degree OR data science degree and business / management qualification preferable
- Demonstrable and exceptional quantitative research, modelling and coding capabilities.
- Deep knowledge of available sustainability data and its limitations.
- Knowledge of prevailing sustainability concepts, frameworks, industry best practice and regulations.
- Knowledge of the technology architecture supporting investment management.
