JOB SUMMARY
Works under general supervision to provide routine technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of fundamental techniques and practices related to particular field of science.
Candidate will be assisting with processing of preclinical tissue and cell specimens for downstream applications including RNA, DNA, and protein extraction, with attention to quality control for techniques including flow cytometry and immunoassays; supporting general laboratory operations through inventory management, ordering of supplies, maintaining quality controls of equipment, and a clean and organized work environment.; participating in transcriptomic and proteomic workflows by assisting in sample preparation, data collection, and adherence to established protocols to ensure experimental rigor; contributing to regulatory compliance by helping prepare documentation related to IACUC, IBC, and IRB protocols in collaboration with senior lab members.

Experience And Educationrequired
- EducationCompletion of two (2) years of college or specialized training in histology, medical technology or relevant field or High School graduation including courses in basic sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, etc.
- Experience1 year of experience as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with Completion of two (2) years of college or 3 years of laboratory experience including two years as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with High School graduation
Job Duties
- Assists in conducting experiments and working on research problems in such fields as physiology, bacteriology, tissue culture, chemistry, and other related fields by performing basic, routine, and least complex procedures as prescribed by supervisor.
- Assembles and/or operates various laboratory equipment and apparatus.
- Records resulting data in accordance with established methods. Confers with supervisor concerning results obtained, and modifies procedures in accordance with instruction of supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
