Job Description

  • During your assignment, you will implement, integrate and evaluate cutting-edge algorithms along the complete stack of an Automated Driving System with focus on perception or function and planning modules.
  • The technological focus will be on Machine Learning, including End-to-End systems and Foundation Models, such as Vision Language Models (VLM) and Vision Language Agents (VLA).
  • Your algorithms will run in real time on a prototype test vehicle.
  • In addition, you will realize a system-driven evaluation in a system-in-the-loop simulation and on defined reference tracks.
  • Last but not least, you will work in an agile and diverse research team.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master studies in the field of Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering or comparable with excellent grades
  • Experience and Knowledge: excellent programming skills in Python and C++; knowledge of ROS and Machine Learning libraries is a strong plus
  • Personality and Working Practice: you are a highly motivated, flexible team player
  • Languages: fluent in English and ideally good in German

Additional Information

  • Start: according to prior agreement
  • Duration: 3 - 6 months

Optionally, we can support an internship preceding the offered thesis. This option would allow you to gather a still broader understanding in the field of automated driving.
