Core Competencies
Perform all the duties of an Electrodiagnostic Technologist I.
Capable of providing accurate explanations and instructions to the patient and family using age-appropriate language and verifying that the patient understands and agrees to complete the ordered exam.
Capable of performing ordered exams or therapy by established protocols while respecting the patient’s ability and comfort.
Capable of adhering to policies and utilizing protocols to determine that expected outcomes have been met.
Capable of documenting deviations from protocol and/or patient-specific issues that may impact quality.
Capable of notifying the appropriate health care provider when an immediate clinical response is necessary based on procedural findings, patient condition, or other relevant concerns that may impact patient safety or care.
Expected to complete all required post-processing and data transfer for physician review timely.
Expected demonstrates timely order closure, charge entry, and QA completion.
Capable of assisting provider and/or senior team members with continuing education literature and presentations.
Expected to routinely cover open shifts as appropriate based on your level of competency.

Experienced and competent in routine and complex studies.
Complete understanding of technical standards, scope of practice, department and health system policies, and safety and service standards.
Complete understanding of neurodiagnostic software, instrumentation, and ancillary patient care equipment.
Education, Certification & Experience
Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
One of the following registries is required: EEG, NCV, EP, IOM, PSG, CAP from ABRET or BRPT.
All team members must reach clin II status within three years of their hire date.
Working Conditions: Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. General office environment. May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. * May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. * May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials. * May have periods of constant interruptions. Prolonged periods of working alone.
* Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
