Humelink West Project
Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.
Please note this role will be site based requiring FIFO on a 10:4 Roster, where additional allowances will apply. Local based applicants would be highly considered.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for providing on-site support and response to H&S queries, initiatives and systems improvements. The position also provides advice to assistance and maintain a safe and healthy workplace and for adherence to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations and standards for the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience in driving H&S initiatives and outcomes across multi-site and culturally diverse environments.
- Maintains and reports safety performance statistics (incidents, labour hours, frequency rates), identifying trends and implementing corrective actions
- Provide HS advice and support across a wide range of stakeholders across all sites and projects
- Implementing and communicating of compliance requirements for the UGL Safety Procedures and work standards/practices
- Develop and embed policy, standards and systems and business initiatives across all sites
- Reviewing project related incident reports for accuracy, satisfactory investigation and appropriate recommended actions
- Conduct investigations and lead investigations
- Understand and stay current in leading HSE practices, legislation, regulations, and obligations and bring new and innovative ideas to UGL
- Providing assistance to all levels of Leadership and workers in risk identification and job hazard analysis
- Monitor review and mentor safety compliance through assurance activities, inspections and observations of the workplace
- Maintains and reports safety performance statistics (incidents, manhours, frequency rates), identifying trends and implementing corrective actions
Qualifications And Experience:
- Minimum 3 + Years experience within a similar role in industrial/construction environment
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent relevant qualification
- Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 9000, 14000, 45001 (desirable)
- ICAM Lead Investigator
- Certicate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
