THE POSITION:
The purpose of this role is to drive the commercial success of Roland’s BOSS and guitar product category for Roland Europe Group. You are responsible for achieving sales targets, managing product lifecycles, and executing go-to-market strategies that deliver results. This role blends product expertise with commercial focus working across sales, marketing, and operations to ensure visibility, availability, and profitability. You’ll shape positioning, influence development, and lead execution from launch to legacy. Success means delivering the numbers while building long-term brand strength in a competitive market. Roland’s accessories category is also included to the responsibilities of the BOSS product manager.

Role Accountabilities:

Strategy

  • Ensure sales budget is achieved for assigned product categories.
  • Ensure internal sales and channel staff are ‘set up for success’ by providing appropriate resources and training.
  • Collaborate with product, sales, marketing, and logistics teams across the organisation to develop effective market entry strategies and manage the full product lifecycle.
  • Communicate the global Go-To-Market (GTM) plan to all key stakeholders and execute it in local markets following the product launch process.
  • Identify and implement additional local opportunities to drive awareness and engagement, such as POS materials, local content, events/shows etc.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with global counterparts to exchange market insights, support new product development, create meaningful reporting and enhance sales and stock forecasting.
  • Collaborate to create and manage content with influencers, dealers, and press in alignment with the global strategy.

Relationship Management

  • Develop and nurture strong, meaningful relationships with our channel partners.
  • Collaborate with local sales teams to optimise product availability across various outlets and channels.
  • Work with product specialist teams to enhance in-store and online visibility, deliver high-quality product training, and support key dealer sales plans.

Market Research and Product Development

  • Research existing and potential customers to understand what, why, and how they buy, providing evidence-based feedback for the NPB process (New Product Board).
  • Execute specific market research as requested by the BU to support the NPB1 process.
  • Monitor market and competitor activities to provide evidence-based feedback on new product pricing and forecasting, assisting future marketing, channel, or pricing strategies.
  • Understand the appropriate routes to market and align with relevant sales strategies. 

Marketing And Sales

  • Develop and oversee marketing plans to generate demand for new and current products, focusing on profitability and volume. 
  • Ensure marketing activities align with global directives, meet campaign objectives, and support lead generation targets. 
  • Monitor sales performance, propose corrective actions, and communicate product strategy to sales teams regularly. 

Stock Management

  • Analyse sales performance of assigned product groups across territories, assessing forecast accuracy, key account performance, competitor impact, and local trends. 
  • Propose strategies to resolve stock issues while staying within annual targets.
  • Communicate production problems affecting product supply and recommend solutions. 
  • Implement exit strategies for discontinued products to coincide with new model introductions.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications Required:

Required Skills And Experience:

  • Proven commercial experience within the musical instrument industry, ideally managing a product category, brand, or territory with clear revenue accountability
  • Strong track record in forecasting, stock management, and lifecycle planning for physical products 
  • Experience working directly with dealers, distributors, or retail partners in a commercial capacity 
  • Confident in B2B sales environments, with a strong understanding of channel dynamics and product positioning 
  • Skilled at turning market insight into actionable go-to-market plans and growth strategies 
  • Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and operations to hit targets 
  • Regular European travel required, occasional international travel required 
  • A passion for and an ability to play the guitar to a reasonable standard 
  • A full driving licence and passport
