Project

Energy Cloud is a comprehensive IT solution aimed at achieving energy-saving goals. This approach is defined based on the methodology of the Science Based Target Initiative, according to Scope 1 (direct emissions from the company's operations) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from electricity usage). This means that Deutsche Telekom (currently operated by GSUS in Germany for office buildings, in cooperation with Telekom Natcos) is reducing its emissions in line with the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. This method is used to develop, plan, and implement scientifically grounded, measurable, and transparent emission reduction strategies. What’s special about the project is that we must be able to receive data both from external networks and from Telekom’s private network. There is an external machine learning team, an IoT device control team, and a few other teams that are developing in parallel with us and will eventually migrate to our platform. We choose Google Cloud Managed solutions for everything.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, proactive engineer with a passion for building data-centric systems and automating cloud infrastructure. This role serves as a bridge between development and operations teams, ensuring the delivery of reliable and efficient services.

Daily Tasks

• Developing and maintaining data-centric applications using Python.
• Designing and implementing cloud infrastructure within the AWS ecosystem.
• Monitoring and optimizing system performance and health, with a strong focus on using Datadog.
• Creating efficient internal processes and collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve project goals.
• Applying DevOps practices, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Clean Code principles in daily work.
• Solving problems and effectively managing challenges related to system operations.

KéPzettséG

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
• Good English written and oral skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Good negotiation skills (required for internal stakeholder communications and processes).
• Strong experience with Python.
• Strong experience with AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, DynamoDB).
• Strong experience in Datadog.
• Dedication to Clean Code.
• Experience in test-driven development.
• Experience with DevOps practices.

Nice-To-Have Skills

• Experience in Argo workflows.
• Experience in Kafka.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus.
