Job Description

In order to decarbonize Gas Power's gas turbine fleet, it will rely on investments in either pre-combustion or post-combustion infrastructure. In this role you will have the opportunity to engage with external companies to get an understanding of their long-term infrastructure plans to create the foundation for decarbonizing the world. GE Vernova will then use this information to identify our installed base units that are near this planned infrastructure to help our customer develop their decarbonization roadmaps.

What You'Ll Do:

Key outcome of this project is to update GE Vernova's database of planned hydrogen and carbon capture infrastructure development plans on a global basis. This information will then be used to generate an updated list of prioritized customer engagements for decarbonization solutions.

Primary Skills Developed:

Understanding of the decarbonization pathways and technologies used to decarbonize a gas turbine. Understanding of the key companies in the world that are investing and building energy transition infrastructure. Visibility to the timelines and investments required to enable a decarbonized economy.

Internship Term Dates: May/June - August 2026

Expected Work Schedule:Day/1st -Shift (40 - hours weekly)

What You'Ll Bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Energy Studies, Sustainability, or related technical field
  • Minimum GPA 4.0 / 5.0 scale.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex technical information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

What Will Make You Stand Out:

  • Coursework or project experience in energy systems, decarbonization technologies, or environmental engineering
  • Knowledge of hydrogen production, carbon capture and storage (CCS/CCUS), or gas turbine technologies
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, or advanced Excel)
  • Previous internship or project experience in energy, utilities, or environmental sectors

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $34.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed

This position is also eligible for:

  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
  • Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services
  • GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
