What you’ll deliver with us
Role Description
The Salesforce Technical Architect will be responsible for designing technical architecture solutions that span multiple platforms and include integration and authentication across systems. They will manage the development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of highly secure solutions that are optimized for performance and built to scale, articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for technical architecture. The Technical Architect will be supported by a solution architect, functional consultant, developers and testers.
They will act as a trusted advisor to the scrum team, and a mentor for the solution architect, functional consultants and developers where required. They will have a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform and strong people skills to negotiate with stakeholders such as the Product Owner, Platform Manager and Solution Architects to achieve buy in on preferred solution options, as well as the development team on get the vision built into a successful solution.
In addition to the primary tech lead role, the resource should be able to take up some Iteration Manager responsibility when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to facilitate workshops between internal stakeholders from idea explorations to post implementation phases.
- Ability to understand and provide platform governance and best practice oversight to the development team
- Team mentoring and providing timely constructive feedback that encourages thoughtful design that conforms to best practice
- Involved in developing business requirements, specifications, process flows, application design, application configuration, testing and deployment
- Liaising closely with key stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet business requirements and conform to platform best practices
- Assisting in co-ordination of timelines for deliverables and negotiating timelines with key stakeholders based on in-flight priorities
- Taking ownership of the end-to-end solution to ensure solutions are delivered in a timely manner and conform to best practices
- Being a team player and working collaboratively to achieve solid outcomes
- Act as a packaging manager, approving configuration and coded items to be deployed between environments
- Ability to take up some IM type coordination work when required and work with the PM to support the delivery of the project.
Skills And Experience
- Excellent understanding core salesforce clouds including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Community Cloud
- Excellent development skills in Lightning Web Components, Lightning Aura Components, Apex, Visualforce
- Excellent understanding of platform best practices promoting good security, high performance and stability of platform
- Excellent understanding of solution design and how to apply platform best practices to solutions
- Excellent knowledge of Salesforce APIs and solid hands-on integration experience with enterprise systems
- Excellent knowledge of integration options for inbound and outbound flows and when to use them
- Excellent knowledge of enterprise design and patterns including Domains, Selectors, Apex Mocks and Service class architecture
- Solid experience in working on multiple Salesforce implementations
- Solid experience in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Community Cloud implementation
- Solid experience with GIT and continuous integration and delivery
- Solid experience in dealing with the on-platform Salesforce tech stack including SSO, Certificates, Auth. Providers, OIDC, Named Credentials, Event Monitoring, Platform Events, External Data, Connected Apps, Knowledge, Console apps, Reporting & Dashboards etc.
- Experience in code refactoring and solution redesign to address security, performance and stability issues
- Experience using Metadata API and using ANT to retrieve and deploy metadata as needed
- Experience in SFDX and CLI based org management
- Core methodology of test-driven development and deployment process
- Previous off-platform development experience
- Script automation experience using off-platform development languages
- 6+ years salesforce development experience
- Salesforce.com integration experience, including directly between applications and via middleware
- Proficiency in programming using Salesforce SFDC, Force.com, Java, JavaScript, and XML
- Strong experience with configuration, customization, programming with APEX APIs, APEX Triggers
- Strong practical knowledge of Apex, Lightning Components (LWC and Aura), Visualforce, Flow, Salesforce configurations, APIs and Integration patterns, AppExchange deployment, and LWC.
- Ability to produce solution/technical architecture documentation for an end-to-end solution
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage and focus on the highest priority deliverables and switch as needed
