About the Team:
The Global Public Policy team’s work spans a broad and diverse range of functions and workstreams, including government affairs and government relations; policy, product, and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships; and philanthropy. The mission of the Global Public Policy team is to prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats and to promote a political, legislative, and regulatory environment that supports growth and innovation for our business.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and support engagement with policymakers and civil society organizations on matters impacting CapCut and other content creation and editing tools, with particular focus on the AI models, generative technologies and image + video innovationsthat power these products.
- Translate complex public policy and regulatory developments, especially those related to AI, such as model governance, training data, privacy, safety, bias, IP and provenance, into actionable insights for internal stakeholders across product, legal, and engineering teams.
- Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in AI model governance for creative and content-focused tools, contributing thought leadership, peer mentorship, and cross-functional knowledge-sharing to support the team’s growth in this emerging policy area. Help shape the foundational guidance as the organization scales its capabilities in response to evolving regulatory complexity.
- Support the development, progression, and execution of AI related initiatives from foundation model development to integration into creative products, offering insights to inform public policy strategies and engagements, and ensuring the Global Public Policy team remains informed about significant developments in AI products and operations.
- Continuously identify, monitor, and analyze key legislative, regulatory, and industry developments related to AI models and creative technologies, synthesizing insights to inform public policy positions and engagement strategies.
- Cultivate, manage, and deepen cross-functional relationships with internal teams—including Legal, Product, Communications, Trust & Safety, and Global Policy - to ensure timely coordination and policy alignment for AI driven features within CapCut and other creator products.
