You will be part of the ESOL team where you will concentrate your time working with learners who have settled in Fife. You will work with adult ESOL learners who are participating in basic level learning programmes within a group context by employing learning strategies to enable them to improve their English language skills. You will plan, deliver and assess learning needs and abilities of individuals using a range of strategies to overcome barriers presented by their English language difficulties and agree an appropriate learning plan with learners. You will manage learning appropriate to the different individual needs and aspirations of learners in the context of a group setting. Identifying causal factors in difficulties in acquisition of English language capabilities and addressing these factors with the learner through a tailored personal learning plan is part of the role, as is developing, preparing and managing learning materials, activities and environments to ensure the delivery of a high quality and appropriate level of learning programme.
The Person
Must be educated to SCQF level 8, which includes HND or SVQ level 4 or equivalent in a related subject. ESOL qualified to CELTA or equivalent level.
You must have good time management, organisational skills and communication and experience of working effectively with minimum supervision. You must be flexible and adaptable in approach with experience of establishing and maintaining good working relationships with adult learners, colleagues and partner organisations.
IT skills and experience of online delivery are essential. You must have the ability to travel between venues and work some evenings, according to service needs. You will be committed to the ethos of ESOL.
