Are you looking to apply your cloud skills in a research-driven environment?
The Department of Biomedicine and Biotechnology (DTU Bioengineering) is seeking a motivated and technically skilled student assistant to support the development of a cloud-based platform for hosting data science and bioinformatics tools. You will help build a secure and scalable system that enables researchers to share Python scripts and interactive dashboards via AWS. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of research, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure.
The job
As a part time assistant, you will contribute to the development of a centralized hosting solution for research tools, ensuring secure access, cost efficiency, and reproducibility. You will work with AWS services, GitHub, and authentication systems to support researchers in deploying and maintaining their digital tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop a cloud-based hosting system for codes, notebooks and dashboards on AWS.
- Build a secure dashboard accessible via SSO and Entra Directory.
- Implement cost-effective and scalable hosting solutions.
- Document development work to support reproducibility and future maintenance.
Our expectations of you
We are looking for a proactive assistant with a strong interest in cloud technologies and research support. You should be eager to apply your technical skills in a collaborative environment and contribute to building infrastructure that supports scientific innovation. We imagine that you are either currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT), or alternatively have similar experience from prior jobs or personal projects.
Requirements
- Experience with cloud development, preferably using AWS from academic or personal projects etc
- Familiarity with Python, GitHub, S3 buckets, containers, and App Runner.
- Understanding of user authentication and access control (SSO, Entra Directory).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in cloud development and cost optimization.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC), or in accordance with the OAO-S Joint Agreement and the organization agreement for IT employees (Prosa) in the service of the state.
The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus. Working hours are on average 8 hours per week and can be organized flexibly in relation to holidays, exams, etc. The starting date is 1 November 2025, or by mutual agreement.
