Position Overview:

  • Oversee the management of assigned programs and the training & development of its team members.  Design unique procedures & workflows that support the payment solution needs of FIRST’s client base.  Monitor program activity and make necessary adjustments to ensure maximum profitability

What You’Ll Do

  • Underwrite program terms and individual loans by utilizing credit reporting tools and assessing financial statements. Collaborate with Risk Management to assess the viability of insurance carriers and general agents. Research policy provisions to mitigate unexpected risk.
  • Review and approve large loans prior to system entry. Approve entry of past due accounts, accounts with low yields, policy verification exceptions and/or any other exceptions outside of standard procedure.
  • Determine best method for resolving issues with minimal impact to other departments. When necessary, review and approve level 4 posting corrections.
  • Analyze profitability trends of the Carrier/GA/Captive, Third Party, FIRST Direct and FIRST Fusion programs, and make appropriate adjustments to improve where necessary.
  • Ensure accuracy of FIRST Direct and other miscellaneous reporting; write queries and/or determine query criteria to accommodate client and/or department reporting needs.
  • Review and write department policy to ensure alignment with company policy and statutory requirements. Determine, approve & enforce corresponding procedures. Identify and/or address any deficiencies in department procedure or policy and document & train staff appropriately.
  • Collaborate with General Counsel to develop program agreements that govern the legal, operational, and financing terms of assigned programs. Facilitate discussions or negotiate terms of agreement, as necessary.
  • Write and/or review program instructions for consistency with program workflow, terms, and pricing details as agreed upon or determined by the program agreement. Approve revisions, as needed.
  • Drive optimization modeling and process planning with outside sales (where applicable) and internal staff. The optimization process tiers a programs book by premium level, calculates quote conversation ratios, average down payments, installments and price to decision makers of where program opportunities may exist
  • Exhibit and promote excellent customer service standards. Enforce and maintain standard & augmented service levels based on program workflows.
  • Diplomatically address profitability and/or other business concerns.  Lead internal & external conversations and execute plans to discontinue business, where necessary. Recommend and/or negotiate changes to existing program pricing and/or terms, as needed.
  • Design/recommend program workflows for prospects and new business opportunities based on available products and services. Collaborate with Sales & Marketing and/or Finance to determine pricing and program terms.
  • Participate in meetings/calls with prospective programs to provide operational and systematic expertise and recommend appropriate products and/or services. Identify required enhancements to automate or satisfy program prerequisites. Communicate expectations regarding FIRST’s software development life cycle and deployment timeframes.
  • Participate in enhancement design discussions and review software enhancement requests to ensure new logic aligns with existing system logic. Represent Specialty Business interests during weekly enhancement prioritization meetings.
  • Act as primary point of contact for Integrated Solutions team, to troubleshoot escalated issues.  Review and assess reports of system inconsistencies (bugs) and communicate required changes to Business Analysts and/or other appropriate IT staff.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 Years’ Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • The ability to guide, influence, and motivate a team effectively. 
  • Clear, concise, and effective communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • The capacity to plan, schedule, and manage resources and workflows effectively. 
  • The ability to identify issues, analyze situations, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong sales experience to identify new business opportunities through existing or prospective programs.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $85k – $110k along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
