Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in hardware system engineering program management, team leadership, or product design engineering.
  • Experience in phase gate product development.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Consumer Electronics.
  • Ability to lead technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and drive them to completion.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin fluently in order to interact with internal and external stakeholders.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring that product requirements are captured. You will manage cross-functional communication and technical dependencies with other Google teams, creating and driving the overall program schedule, quality, resources, identifying and mitigating risk at all stages, and defining the overall structure and meeting protocols between teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage development Health and Home hardware products and drive the overall execution and strategy of the team.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to meet schedule, system build milestones, cost, quality and manufacturability.
  • Drive product development processes and phase gate reviews with the cross-functional teams.
  • Lead resolution on key technical issues and communication of project status to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Interface between joint development partners and cross functional engineering and operation teams.
