About The Job

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You're passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.

As a Manager on our Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you will help shape YouTube's public policy efforts for cross-market regulations. You will coordinate with YouTube’s Trust and Safety, Product, Marketing, Comms, Legal, and Partnerships teams and with Google’s global Government Affairs and Public Policy team to: execute YouTube’s regulatory policy strategy; develop our external narrative around key policy challenges; and provide guidance to product teams regarding the global public policy and regulatory landscape. You will develop, organize, manage, and disseminate critical plans, initiatives, and strategy, while tracking regulatory proposals across global markets and analyzing their potential impact on YouTube’s business. You will be a trusted subject matter expert on policy issues and product offerings relevant to your portfolio.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $182,000-$249,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Advise product teams on the public policy implications of initiatives during the product development and launch process.
  • Engage with executives and executive level leadership to share information about the public policy landscape, including impending regulation, and drive alignment around positions and priorities on key files.
  • Work closely with Trust and Safety and Legal at both the staff and leadership levels regarding implications related to content policies and enforcement actions.
  • Develop resources to support our global public policy team’s work with regulators, trade associations, industry partners, nonprofits, and partners.
  • Develop and execute policy strategy in a way that benefits YouTube’s users and our business; work cross-functionally to keep Legal, Product, and Comms stakeholders informed of developments with material impact.
