Grade 6 (Salaried)Institutional Research Analyst III: Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 6 months and Basic Life Support Instructor Training Certificate is required within 12 months. (7 Salaried)
Position Description:
University of Louisville is seeking a skilled and data-driven Institutional Research Analyst to join our team. Position offers the opportunity to hire at Level II or III, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Candidates with strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and a passion for supporting student success initiatives are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in analyzing data, creating visualizations, and providing insights to inform institutional decision-making and student success efforts.
1 position available. Position will be filled at the Institutional Research Analyst II or Institutional Research Analyst III level based on candidate qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will vary by level but may include the following:
For All Levels:
- Provide data support for the university’s administration and academic units.
- Analyze, interpret, and present data to stakeholders with varying levels of data knowledge.
- Create and maintain data visualizations using SAS Visual Analytics.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across systems and reports.
- Complete required state and federal reporting.
- Complete benchmarking surveys, external surveys, and ad hoc data requests.
- Serving as the lead analyst for ad hoc requests from the Graduate School.
- Transitioning and maintaining the APS (3rd party data visualization platform) data to UofL’s internal library of reports.
Additional Responsibilities For Level Ii:
- Serve as a technical co-lead on enterprise systems and platforms.
- Collaborate with departments to identify and address data needs.
- Lead or contribute to large-scale institutional research projects.
Additional Responsibilities For Level Iii:
- Design and lead complex institutional studies and evaluations.
- Represent the university on committees and at professional conferences.
- Serve as a key resource for resolving technical and analytical challenges.
- Develop advanced analytics and predictive models to support strategic initiatives.
- Mentor junior analysts and provide expertise in data visualization and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications For Level Ii:
- Experience working with higher education data.
- Experience with statistical software (e.g., Base SAS, SPSS, R, or Python) and data visualization tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications For Level Iii:
Master'S Degree
- At least two years of experience in higher education, data analysis, institutional research or related field.
- Advanced Base SAS and SAS Visual Analytics (SAS VA) skills.
- Experience leading complex research project
- Project Management: Organized, task-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Anticipates and addresses challenges effectively.
- Critical Thinking: Evaluates data and makes actionable recommendations.
- Customer Service Orientation: Responsive and helpful in addressing stakeholder needs.
- Data Visualization Expertise: Experience creating dashboards and visual reports using SAS VA.
Preferred Skills And Competencies:
This position is 100% on campus. No remote work option is available. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of a work visa for this position.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
