About The Role
In this role you will play a key part in contributing to the project team responsible for delivering the Precinct Structure Planning program for emerging growth areas and will be working across a variety of teams including sustainability, transport, drainage, community infrastructure, amendments and statutory planning.
A key focus of this position is to lead the Precinct Structure Planning process and incorporating the natural environment inputs into the planning, and delivery of new communities.
- Work type: 3-year fixed term position
- Classification: Band 7 Commencing at $106,158 pa plus super
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Contribute to a diverse range of strategic planning activities to support the development and implementation of solutions aligned with departmental strategies and objectives.
- Provide subject matter expertise and strategic advice to departmental leaders and key stakeholders, ensuring informed decision-making and alignment with broader goals.
- Lead the preparation, coordination, and implementation of strategic plans, policies, guidelines, and planning initiatives.
- Manage contracts with external consultants, ensuring deliverables, timelines, and budgets are met, while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
- Represent the department through presentations to Council, staff, community groups, and other stakeholders as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have relevant qualification in Town Planning, Environmental Planning or related fields and or significant professional experience in strategic and statutory planning, project management in a comparable organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practices related to strategic and statutory planning
- Project management experience including engagement and management of consultants and contractors and keeping the project delivery on schedule.
- Professional experience in projects or programs which enable the delivery of new communities in both greenfield and/or urban renewal contexts.
- Planning Scheme Amendment process experience is desirable
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
