Department Overview:

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH) at the University of Wisconsin is a leading clinical department within the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). DFMCH is dedicated to advancing patient care, education, and research. Our 18 clinics provides primary care to over 175,000 patients yielding over 374,000 patient visits annually, and we train more than 150 residents and 300 medical students each year. Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Spanish reading, writing, and speaking
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
• Problem-solving mindset and adaptability

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Background, education, or training in healthcare or health-related fields. For example, 1 year of experience in research, public health, community/nonprofit work, or a related field. This position is well suited for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in graduate or medical education.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
• Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.)

Position Summary/Job Duties:

• • Interview transcript alignment and organization (primarily in Spanish): synchronizing written transcripts with the corresponding audio recording to create detailed, contextualized transcripts.
• • Preparing documents and materials for research activities
• • Assisting with recruitment efforts, including tabling at events and engaging with community members
• • Supporting other administrative tasks related to ongoing studies
• • The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in community-engaged research and contribute to projects focused health care access and accessibility.
