What will you do as an IT Manager?

  • Support the overall successful operations of Thompson IT services.
  • Perform high-level information technology functions that include:
  1. Server maintenance, monitoring, and upgrades.
  2. Monitor server and network downtime and resolve major issues.
  3. Oversight of all company software and hardware.
  4. Ensure adequate network, endpoint, and cloud security systems are in place and functional.
  5. Ensure adherence to all internal, mandated, and accrediting technology compliance requirements.
  6. Visualize and present company analytics in regard to communication, technology, and cybersecurity.
  • Supervise positions/vendors responsible for software support and other functions that include:
  1. Hardware setup and maintenance (PCs, Laptops, Tablets, etc.)
  2. Resolving Helpdesk requests.
  3. Communication platforms and devices such as cell phones and VOIP.
  4. Training on new technology changes.
  5. Deploying and maintaining appropriate agency software.
  6. Employee account creation/removal, group management, and scripting.
  7. Monitoring, upgrading, altering, and backing up company data and systems.
  • Build and grow high functioning technology team, including:
  1. Consistent and documented 1:1s, development plans, and team tactical meetings.
  2. Ensuring professional development for personal and professional growth.
  3. Develop and adhere to accountability standards and expectations.
  4. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  5. Build culture and resolve internal conflicts.
  6. Utilize Leadership Pipeline methodologies to ask questions and build professional autonomy.
  7. Ensure strong employee relations and minimize undesired turnover.
  • Provide input to, understand, and adhere to created budget.
  • Create alignment of customer service expectations and internal department processes and SLAs.
  • Carry out software and hardware initiatives for all departments of the agency, including:
  1. Evaluating business needs.
  2. Researching software purchases and upgrades.
  3. Project management for implementation and migration.
  4. Coordinating training efforts with software suppliers or third-party consultants.
  5. Ensuring users fully utilize hardware and software resources and explore expanded uses for existing software.
  6. Ensure proper asset tracking and management.
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise in the operation and application of relevant Hardware, Software, and infrastructure technology.
  • Provide input on digital data strategy for tracking key metrics, areas for improvement, digital utilization and trends.
  • Create strong working relationships, effective communication, transparency, and collaboration with all departments and staff.
  • Oversee relationships and manage contracts with vendors and service providers.
  • Act as a backup HIPAA Security Officer for electronic data and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Maintain and develop all custom internal processes and documentation.
  • Perform any and all additional tasks as assigned by IT Director.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in technology related field plus 5 years relevant experience or a BA/BS degree in computer science or related discipline and four years relevant experience.
  • Requires special technical knowledge of the techniques and procedures of server maintenance and configuration.
  • Must understand deployment, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking and accessory equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 is a must.
  • Requires PowerShell and VMWare fluency.
  • SQL knowledge as a plus.
  • Requires sufficient analytical skills to assess problems or unusual situations and develop solutions.
  • Requires in-depth understanding of HIPAA compliance, network security, and breach investigation.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Verified 5 years of work experience as a high performing individual contributor in a related field.
  • Exposure to leadership/management experiences either through short term project management, coordination, training or actual leadership positions.
  • Displays the capacity/coachability for future growth and development as a leader.
