Regional Controller (Multi-Property Hotel Finance)
Gravity Haus.com
Office
Denver, CO, US
Full Time
Description
The Regional Controller will oversee the financial management of 5–10 Gravity Haus properties, serving as the primary liaison between property leadership and our third-party centralized accounting partner. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely monthly financial statements, forecasts, cash management, and annual budgets for each property.
As a fiduciary for property owners, the Regional Controller will maintain clean balance sheets in collaboration with Accounting Partner, provide transparent financial communications to owners and their representatives, and manage day-to-day cash flow. The role will also serve as the key point of contact for audits (financial and tax) and assist with due diligence for new property acquisitions or transitions. In addition, the Regional Controller will ensure each property maintains current contracts and supporting documentation, and will act as a financial mentor to property operations teams, working closely with regional operations counterparts to align financial performance with operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial reporting for 5–10 properties, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company standards.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reviews with our third-party accounting partner, ensuring all reconciling entries are posted the following month.
- Ensure the timely completion and delivery of monthly financial statements and reporting packages to property ownership groups.
- Lead forecasting and budgeting processes, partnering with regional and property teams to develop payroll and expense drivers within Insight.
- Manage banking operations, including daily cash file reporting and preparation of monthly cash flow forecasts for EVP Finance approval.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for financial communications with ownership groups, ensuring transparency and responsiveness.
- Act as the lead for audit activity, including operational sales and occupancy tax audits, as well as external audits engaged by ownership.
- Maintain a full understanding of all management agreements and loan documents for assigned properties.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and current records for contracts, licenses, and permits, with appropriate support.
- Support the EVP Finance with special projects and financial initiatives as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with prior multi-property or regional oversight in hospitality or real estate.
- Deep understanding of financial reporting, balance sheet management, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow analysis.
- Strong technical skills with financial systems (e.g., M3, Insight, Ramp) and advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
- Proven ability to partner with ownership groups, external auditors, and centralized accounting teams.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple properties.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex financial data for non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience supporting audits, due diligence, and new property transitions.
- Self-motivated and accountable — able to thrive in a fast-paced, growing startup environment without constant oversight.
- Demonstrated track record of driving financial discipline in a growth-oriented company, while balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
- Collaborative mentor and team player who understands that success comes through partnership, shared accountability, and lifting the team as a whole.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence property teams and act as a trusted business partner to operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred).
