Your Responsibilities:
- Project Delivery & Technical Execution
- Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring understanding of scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Analyse customer requirements to define optimal control system architecture, including hardware/software configuration and integration of third-party systems.
- Perform conceptual design of control systems, ensuring compliance with industry codes and safety standards.
- Develop and implement custom application software.
- Oversee integration of third-party hardware and control systems into overall project architecture.
- Prepare technical specifications, design documentation, and project reports.
- Conduct functional testing and provide on-site commissioning support.
- You will Be the Lead Technical Engineer on small to mid-size projects, providing technical direction and oversight to project engineers.
- Take ownership of technical issues and engage partners across all levels to guide resolution.
- Mentor and support junior engineers through knowledge sharing and guidance.
- Lead internal and customer system testing activities.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, or related discipline).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.·
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).·
- National Engineering Register (NER) accreditation.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Strong working knowledge of Rockwell Automation and third-party products, including:
- Demonstrated competency in industry applications.
- Proven experience in delivering automation solutions in mining, manufacturing, or processing environments.
- Demonstrated competency in industry applications.
- PlantPAx, FT View SE/ME, Historian SE, PLC programming
- Drives, Motor Control, Industrial Networks
- Virtualisation platforms (eg - VMware, ThinManager)
- Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic
