Department Overview:

Population health management is deeply rooted in cutting-edge analytics. Navvis has assembled a team of experienced and passionate healthcare analysts and data scientists who work across the organization and expose opportunities to facilitate better health amongst the people we serve. We demonstrate our capabilities to prospective partners by establishing ROI models with our Finance team, designing data models with our IT team, measuring productivity and efficiency for our Operations team, and predicting adverse events with our Clinical team. Our mission is to innovate, enlighten and most importantly, make a difference.

As Director, Healthcare Analytics, you will:

  • The Director of Healthcare Analytics leads a team responsible for extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making within the healthcare organization.
  • This role requires expertise in data analysis techniques, statistical methodologies, and healthcare domain knowledge.
  • The Director collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • This is a hands-on, execution-focused leadership role for someone who excels at organizing and synthesizing data, aligning departments around shared goals, and advancing data projects. You will work directly with clinical and business leaders to elevate operational rigor and enable smart decision-making at scale.

A Day In The Life:

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for healthcare analytics in alignment with client organizational goals.
  • Build, from the ground-up, analytics capabilities to support data-driven decision-making across clinical, operational, and financial/ value-based contract domains.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a 2-3 person team of healthcare data analysts
  • Oversee the collection, cleaning, validation and analysis of healthcare data from various sources, including electronic health records (EHR), claims data, and operational databases.
  • Interpret findings and translate complex analytical results into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders to identify analytics opportunities and prioritize projects.
  • Partner with IT teams to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives based on analytics insights, such as reducing readmission rates, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing care delivery processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress towards strategic goals.

Success in this role looks like:

  • Tactically speaking: Perform the work outlined in the statement of work, and partner with both Navvis and client teams to deliver an analytics and reporting suite that enables data driven decision making and effectively communicates performance
  • More broadly, the hire must understand the mutual goals and value-based contracts and proactively communicate insights, build operational reporting to communicate performance, perform analyses to measure or predict impact of initiatives, identify opportunities and the root causes for them, and collaborate with the client and our operations staff to achieve our goals.
  • They must also show:
  • Growth Mindset: Eager to solve problems, learn from challenges, and deliver smarter insights.
  • Technical Aptitude: Codes efficiently, validates work rigorously, and aligns analysis with role complexity.
  • Business Fluency: Understands strategic priorities and translates data into high-impact decisions.
  • Consultative Approach: Delivers tailored insights through agile problem-solving and project management.
  • Data Storytelling: Crafts and translates compelling narratives with visualizations and presentations.
Requirements

We're excited about you if you have these things:

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis (EHR and Claims) with progressive leadership responsibilities
  • 4-5 years of direct leadership experience, preferably in a value-based care environment within a provider organization
  • 4-5 years of experience using SQL and Power BI
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Solid understanding of Epic and Arcadia back-end schemas preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience “managing up” – managing client expectations, for example, “under-promising and over-delivering” and successfully using data/analytics to influence executives
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team-building, strategic planning, and project management
  • Strong critical thinking skills and a passion for leveraging data to drive innovation and improve patient care
  • Willingness to travel 15% of the time
